July 1873
Sir,
I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to request you to call the attention of the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury to my letter of the 6th September 1872, respecting the issue of the Paper notes by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.
2. Lord Kimberley assumes that this letter had been overlooked, and he would be glad to be favoured with an answer as nearly three years have now elapsed since the date of the Governor's despatch to which no reply has yet been received.
